Written by Livigno | 24 July 2020
Its ideal situation, cool climate and infinite opportunities for combining relaxation, sport, leisure and fun, mean Livigno is the ideal destination for a family holiday, during which parents can enjoy once in a lifetime, unforgettable experiences with their children whilst still managing to relax and enjoy a carefree stay. Walks and excursions with our alpine guides; adventurous, adrenaline-packed trails or exploring a world of stables and pastures; pedal-boat trips on the lake; a day on the Aquagranda water slides or at Lupigno Kindergarten are just some of the many experiences that Livigno offers families choosing Little Tibet for their holidays. Our timeless classics and new ideas include 5 unissable experiences and activities that’ll make a holiday in Livigno unforgettable…for the whole family.

1. FAMILY EXCURSIONS AND TREKKING
Our alpine guides are proposing a whole host of new ideas this year, to ensure summer 2020 is super special for those families who choose Livigno for their holidays. They’ve worked hard to draw up an entire programme of activities for children to enjoy in nature. Unmissable excursions include fun, half-day themed walks with mountain guides, a visit to the ancient Vago alpine hut to savour fresh milk and give the calves a drink. Moreover, some of the most evocative places the whole family can visit include the Val Nera waterfall, Val Saliente, Val Federia, Sorgente Solforosa and Val Alpisella.

2. A DAY IN THE SADDLE
Besides being a reference point and meeting place for bikers, Livigno’s Bike Skill Center is the ideal place for kids and teens who want to have fun whilst building up their technical knowledge about biking. Kids mustn’t miss out on our skill trails with wooden walkways, jumps, bumps and ground level courses to experiment with our coaches, the “let’s ride those wheels" course to learn how to master their bikes with the help of qualified instructors, and the ready to ride course to tackle with their peers and a coach on real mountain paths. A trip to the extraordinary Bike Academy course in the Sitas Area is a must, too. From the top of the Vetta chairlift to the Cosacca Refuge, there is a 5km trail for learning MTB techniques, which integrates 8 exercise areas (balance, step down, switch back, rock garden, north shore, drops, jumps and skinny) that are ideal for preparing to tackle any kind of mountain route.

3. FAMILY CHALLENGES TO ENJOY ON THE LAKE
Always enjoyed not only by children but also adults and all those who love water sports, the alpine lake offers countless opportunities for fun for the whole family.Kayaks, stand up paddle boats, rowing-boats, pedal boats: just choose which you prefer to sail the waters of the lake and, why not, challenge family members to a little race to reach the floating island. This wooden island is perfect for taking a break to relax on comfortable deckchairs and benches and snap a few souvenir pictures with the breathtaking view of Livigno as a backdrop.

4. LARIX PARK
Just a short walk from the centre of Livigno, with its 8 hanging pathways, Larix Park is an adventure area that allows visitors to explore, play and learn by climbing over trunks and cross Nepalese-style bridges and wooden walkways in complete safety. The paths feature different levels of difficulty and are also suitable for younger children: ropes, pulleys and lianas enable the entire family to "fly" from one tree to another, so parents and their children can enjoy a truly unique, unforgettable experience together.

5. A DAY WITH LUPIGNO AND AN AFTERNOON IN AQUAGRANDA
Fun is of the utmost importance in Livigno, and so is relaxing. If parents need to unplug and unwind, browse around the shops or take time out to engage in more extreme activities, this is when Lupigno and our staff at Aquagranda step in.From 15th June to 7th September, 9a.m. to 5p.m., Lupigno Kinderclub organises activity-packed days for kids aged 3 to 11, who can give free rein to their desire to have fun with peers and the qualified staff who’ll take care for them for the entire day. Whilst their parents dedicate an afternoon to relaxing or training in Aquagranda Active You!, on the other hand, children and youngsters aged 4 to 14 can have fun with the centre’s qualified animators who organise water games and a whole host of activities for an alternative, fun-packed afternoon, Tuesday to Sunday, from 4p.m. to 6p.m.

Between one experience and another, visitors simply mustn’t miss out on the chance to enjoy a ride along Livigno cycle path close to the town centre, whose 17km wind along the entire length of the valley. The route starts from the Latteria di Livigno (the dairy) in the lake area, and heads up to the area of Forcola. Visitors can relax along the cycle path by taking a break in one of the many playgrounds and green areas, but also one of those specially set up for refreshments in order to enjoy a picnic with the whole family.
