Right in the heart of Livigno, between the shopping streets and the ski lifts, Livigno has opened the doors of the Christmas Village, a welcoming complex of wooden houses wrapped in a swirl of colorful and sparkling lights in which to breathe the scents emanating from the typical local products: walking among the stands it is possible to taste roasted chestnuts, hot chocolate, sweets and mulled wine. You can visit the Christmas Village from the 29th November to 30th December 2019, from 11:30 to 18:30 (every day except 9th, 16th, and 25th December). Even local artisans exhibit their creations and attract, every year, both adults and children. A magical place to rediscover the warmth and tradition of the Christmas holidays, on December 7th and 8th the Christmas Village will welcome young and old together with Santa Claus and a horse-drawn sleigh, while the sound of the bagpipe will transport you to a world magical all those present with Christmas melodies.

To attend all the children there is also the MUS - Museum of Livigno and Trepalle: in addition to being able to visit an exhibition entirely dedicated to Christmas, here the children will be transported to an enchanted world and will be able to write with pen and inkwell, just as it was done once, their letters for Baby Jesus, Santa Claus and Saint Lucia. As per tradition, indeed, the night between 12th and 13th December Santa Lucia will visit all the children to deliver them gifts and sweets. This tradition has been handed down since the fourteenth century and originated in Venice: in fact, on the day dedicated to her, the Venetian nobles used to offer gifts to children. This tradition has been handed down in a very similar guise also in Alta Valtellina, where the children write a letter to the Saint listing simple and modest gifts they would like to receive. To celebrate this tradition, in the MUS! a magic corner has been set up in which children can learn about the history of Saint Lucia through the books and hum rhymes that celebrate it, all surrounded by the objects traditionally associated with the night of its visit including hay, dry bread and bell.

And while children immerse themselves in this magical and Christmas atmosphere, adults can indulge in sparkling and Christmas shopping in over 250 Duty Free shops, for a unique shopping experience at 1816 m altitude, away from traffic and under the protective look of the mountains. Among the most popular stores for Christmas gifts there are certainly perfumeries, hi-tech products, jewelers, and clothing boutiques, including many shops selling sports and snow products: the ideal place to find original gifts or traditional as typical mountain objects for an evergreen gift.

Many are the events scheduled in the Little Tibet for the Christmas period: Sunday, December 22nd will be gladdened by the concert of the children of the choral workshop, while on Monday December 23 the Parish Church of Santa Maria will host the "Concert under the tree" by the Livigno Musical Corps. Protagonists of this Christmas atmosphere will also be the ski instructors, who for their  Ski Instructors Show on December 23 have chosen Christmas as their theme, for a ski show that will give viewers lots of surprises.
