The Kolors' show, the Open Village, the Carovana Party, “Wonderful Losers” and “The Dream Factory”. Livigno sets the table for a cycling party

Livigno, 09.05.2024 - It is really a festival of cycling made and finished, the one that will welcome in Livigno the caravan of the Giro d'Italia and the thousands of fans expected in the Little Tibet, for next weekend, when the pink race will reach its most spectacular moment ever. Livigno, in fact, will offer a breathtaking scenery for the most challenging and iconic stage arrival of this 107th edition of the most loved two-wheeled event by Italians, with the riders who will try to tame the finish line of Mottolino, located at 2400 metres above sea level, and in the scenic beauty of an Olympic venue of the 2026 Games. An ‘instant classic’, as the Americans would define it, for a finale destined to remain in the collective memory, well beyond Sunday 19 May, date of the Manerba del Garda - Livigno stage. After this thrilling finale there will be a day of rest, and then the start will resume, again from Livigno, on Tuesday 21, with the start of stage number 16, which will take place in Aquagranda, the Olympic Preparation Centre of Piccolo Tibet, a pole of international excellence frequented by hundreds of great athletes.

A three-day event that, from a sporting point of view, could even be decisive for the fate of the pink race and that Livigno has chosen to celebrate in grand style, to make the experience of all those who love to follow and live the Giro d'Italia unforgettable. For the occasion, in fact, the Little Tibet will turn into a real capital of cycling, keeping faith with its sporting history and celebrating, not only the return of the stage race on its roads, but also the deep identity relationship that has always existed between the locality and one of its favourite disciplines. A great harmony, which also manifests itself in the preferences of cyclists and teams, who choose Livigno for training in the mountains, and for loading or relaxation periods before major international events.

So, to make even more special this moment of communion with cycling, its protagonists and the fan base of the Giro, Livigno has built a very rich and dense programme of unmissable events, which will be a side dish to the race itself. It starts already on Saturday 18 May, the day before the arrival of the cyclists, with the opening of the Stage Partners Village, in Piazza del Comune, which will be available to the public until Tuesday; with the mountain bike race for boys and girls, organised by the Sporting Club Livigno; and with the free projection at the Cinelux of the award-winning film ‘Wonderful Losers’, dedicated to the wingmen, the true ‘warriors, knights and monks of professional cycling’. For the lovers of the aperitif, finally, appointment with the ‘Giro al Cronox - live aperitif’, starting at 4pm and until 7pm: a format with live music that will be repeated also on Sunday and Monday.

On the 19th, in conjunction with the stage arrival, there will also be the Fanfara dei Bersaglieri, the performance of the Gruppo Folk Livigno and the opening of the Open Village Giro d'Italia, organised by the Giro's major commercial partners, with dedicated entertainment and games for both adults and children. At the Alpino Lodge Bivio, just a stone's throw from the arrival, from 5.00 p.m. there will be the Giro Sciat Festival aperitif. In the evening, back in the village, there will be the Carovana Party show, a collective with over 40 artists performing in the colours of the pink race. Then it will be up to the music of Ernesto De Simone DJ set and the special Food & Beverage set-up to close the event, accompanying those who still feel like celebrating to the gates of the Bivio Club, where, from 11.00 p.m., the Bivio Night with Paolo Noise and Ricky Le Roy is scheduled.

Monday was a busy day, with racing stopped for the day off. It starts with the ‘Social Ride in Pink’, organised by Mottolino. Meeting point at the Mottolino headquarter at 10 am, followed by a Meet & Greet with the Lidl Trek athletes, and start of the Social Ride at 11 am in the company of triathlete Giulio Molinari. At 4.00 p.m., on the other hand, the Pool Lounge Aperitiv Bresaola Festival is scheduled at the Alpen Resort. Monday's highlight will, of course, be the highly anticipated musical show by The Kolors, for two hours of fun and great music. An appointment with free admission. To adequately prepare for the evening event, cycling enthusiasts can also enjoy ‘Dreams factory’, a bike talk by Jacopo Pozzi and Giovanni Bruno, with the presence of Sonny Colbrelli and Elia Viviani, scheduled for the afternoon at Cinelux.

On Tuesday 21, instead, in parallel with the restart of the race, last opportunities to visit the Stage Partners Village and the Giro d'Italia Open Village. In short: a great variety of activities and initiatives, which will make the experience of the Giro d'Italia 2024 even more enthralling and unique, and which, added to the uncontaminated beauty of Livigno's nature and its rich food and wine offer, will leave both professionals and cycling enthusiasts breathless.
