LIVIGNO: FIS INSPECTION APPROVES THE WORLD CUP SUPER-G COURSE

Livigno 12/09/2025

With regard to the press reports published in recent days, Livigno Next, the agency responsible for the promotion and development of the Livigno area, wishes to communicate the following.

Pending the preliminary investigation on the Sitas ski area, aimed at verifying the compliance of the environmental works carried out to adapt the slope that on December 27, 2025 will host the Men’s World Cup Super-G race, the International Ski Federation (FIS) has in recent days conducted an inspection of the course. This inspection confirmed that the works carried out so far fully meet the Federation’s requirements for the regular running of the competition.

“The FIS approval allows us to look forward to the end-of-December event with confidence and optimism, which will be held as scheduled,” said Luca Moretti, President of Livigno Next “Aware of the importance of the moment and the timeliness of the assessments, we trust that everything will be resolved in the best possible way and within the required timeframe for the proper staging of the race.”

Finally, Livigno Next specifies that the World Cup competition has nothing to do with the Winter Olympic Games, which will take place from February 6 to 22, 2026, and during which Livigno will host the snowboard and freestyle events on the slopes of Mottolino and Carosello 3000.
