LIVIGNO: SKIING, SNOWBOARDING AND FREESTYLE IN THE VALLEY OF THE OLYMPICS

In Livigno the pre-Olympic winter season continues: its slopes are packed with thousands of winter sports enthusiasts, both Italian and international, who have chosen this destination to enjoy a healthy dose of fun in the snow, including downhill skiing and other alpine activities.

Among these, the lovers of freestyle and snowboarding stand out, two disciplines that combine technique, creativity and adrenaline: it will be precisely these two disciplines that will be the protagonists of the competitions of the upcoming highly anticipated Olympic Games Milano Cortina 2026, which will further confirm Livigno as one of the world's top mountain destinations. The enthusiasm that pervades the town is palpable and the anticipation for the Olympic Games grows day by day, not only for the chance to see the great champions challenge each other to reach the Olympic summit, but also for the opportunity to experience first-hand the thrill of practising these sports in the places that have made them even more famous.

While waiting for the dream at Five Rings, professionals and amateurs alike can improve their technique and have fun at the Mottolino Snowpark and The Beach Carosello 3000:  these facilities, among the most popular in Europe, offer high quality structures, perfect for the needs of athletes and for those who want to experience the thrill of jumps and freestyle in a unique alpine setting.

The Mottolino Snowpark
is a real temple of snowboarding and freestyle, with 4 lines of jumps perfect for those looking for spectacular challenges. With its 20-year history and a layout that is constantly evolving to meet the demands of professionals, the Snowpark is where world-class athletes train, preparing for their Olympic performances in a stimulating and cutting-edge environment, which includes an area 800 metres long, with over 60 obstacles of various difficulties and sizes.

Flora Tabanelli freestyle athlete of the Livigno Team and one of the most eagerly awaited talents of the upcoming Milan-Cortina Olympics 2026 – said: The thing I love most about Livigno is the atmosphere. On the slopes, in the snow parks and even in the streets of the village. If I think about my first visit, or the 2024 Junior World Championships, or even if I try to visualise what will happen during the Olympic Games, I see one element that unites all these experiences, and that is passion. Here freestyle is in the air in every corner, it's in the culture of the people, it's in the dialogue between the different generations, it's part of the DNA. Then of course, there are magnificent facilities and a great organisation. And Livigno is truly a place close to our hearts, for all our disciplines.

The Beach Carosello 3000, on the other hand, is the place to go for those looking for the ideal combination of fun, sport and unique views. Located at an altitude of 3,000 metres, it offers a unique experience: from the incredible tropical setting to a freestyle park that allows you to push your limits to improve your jumps and acrobatics, all surrounded by a spectacular alpine landscape.

The Sitas Ski Area has something for skiers of all levels, with 14 runs of varying difficulty: from the easiest for beginners to the most challenging slopes for the more experienced. Between the modern ski lifts and the sensational snowy landscape, at Sitas it seems like you can touch the sky directly from the slopes, making it the ideal place for those who want to practice alpine skiing in an evocative setting.

Maurizio Bormolini – a snowboarder from Livigno through and through, 7 times world champion and part of the Livigno Team – has said: Livigno is a special place for those who love these sports, unique in the world, and not only because I was born and raised there, on the contrary. After having seen and touched almost every slope on the planet, I can say without a doubt that no snow is as exciting as ours. It has a spectacular grip, loved by all experts, that allows you to make your board and skis adhere perfectly, making every ski run, every turn, every trick an unforgettable experience. I can't wait to come back here every time and enjoy our slopes and our snow: they make me feel like a child again and, at the same time, allow me to explore new things. Pure magic.

The Valley of the Olympians is therefore preparing to write a new page in the history of winter sports, where the passion
for snowboarding and freestyle blends with the unspoilt beauty of the mountains, creating a unique setting for the
upcoming Milan Cortina 2026 Olympics.
