05/02/2025
At an altitude of 1,816 meters, with one of the longest winter seasons in Europe, Livigno is a sanctuary for all mountain enthusiasts who wish to explore boundless landscapes and experience winter in its purest and most authentic form.
Here, winter reveals itself in its most authentic essence: enchanting landscapes take center stage in the valley, which boasts
115 km of slopes ready to welcome countless winter sports enthusiasts. It is a pristine haven where the muffled silence of the snow is broken only by the sound of skis carving through the soft, powdery surface—a delightful sound that resonates even more these days, thanks to the recent heavy snowfalls that have ensured fresh snow for an extended period, promising unforgettable experiences.
But Livigno, with its 100 km of pristine backcountry terrain, also attracts those in search of pure adrenaline and a sense of freedom that can only be felt while gliding over these endless expanses, becoming one with the majestic nature—the true star of this Alpine destination, renowned as an international excellence.
Freeriding offers a sense of freedom that only an experience in close contact with nature can provide. Skiing off-piste means immersing yourself in the authenticity of the mountains, gliding over pristine snow, choosing untouched routes, and enjoying the thrill of vast, ethereal landscapes.
For those who dream of pushing beyond their limits, touching both sky and earth at once, heliskiing offers an exclusive experience that grants direct access to the wildest peaks of the region.
After a safety briefing and always accompanied by a UIAGM Alpine Guide, participants can embrace the thrill of skiing in vast, untouched spaces, descending pristine slopes where every turn is pure freedom.
Freeriding and heliskiing are not just sports; they are the perfect fusion of sport, nature, and adventure. This is why Livigno has always deeply embraced off-piste skiing, making it an integral part of its identity.
Livigno has developed the Freeride Project, a unique initiative in the European landscape that provides essential tools for exploring the backcountry responsibly. Among these is the Avalanche Bulletin, updated every morning by the Livigno Avalanche Centre (a member of the EAWS – European Avalanche Warning Services Association), which offers detailed information on snow stability across different areas of the resort.
To further support enthusiasts, the Snow Quality Bulletin is also available—a daily service that provides accurate data on snow conditions, skiing quality, and potential obstacles in the three main skiing zones: alpine, forested, and below the treeline.
