LIVIGNO: THE BIB DRAW SHOW LIGHTS UP THE WORLD CUP

Livigno 26/12/2025

A one of a kind spectacle enchants the White Circus: the essence of Livigno takes center stage. Everything is set for the resort’s first-ever Super-G.

Livigno, 26 December 2025 – When sport meets art, when anticipation turns into storytelling and an entire community shares a single emotion, something happens that goes beyond the event itself – even when the event is a historic one. That is exactly what took place this evening in Livigno, where the Bib Draw Show transformed the eve of the resort’s first, historic Alpine Ski World Cup stop into a total spectacle, blending languages, visions and symbols into one powerful collective experience.

In a packed and vibrant Plaza dal Comun, Livigno delivered more than an hour of high-impact artistic and emotional storytelling through an original, refined format. Live music, choreography, visual art and comic illustration intertwined to immerse athletes and spectators alike in the narrative atmosphere, just hours before the race and only weeks ahead of the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games.

Officially opening the Bib Draw Show were Luca Moretti, President of Livigno Next; Remo Galli, Mayor of Livigno; Flavio Roda, President of the Italian Winter Sports Federation (FISI); and Fabio Massimo Saldini, CEO of SIMICO. Together, they shared with the audience the historic and organizational significance of Livigno’s first appearance on the Alpine Ski World Cup circuit, underlining the importance of an event staged on the doorstep of the Olympic Games and confirming the resort’s role among the elite of international sport, before giving way to the show itself.

The evening was enriched by a series of deeply symbolic and highly engaging moments. Ahead of the show, the presentation of Kristian Ghedina’s autobiography moved the audience, creating an ideal bridge between the history of Italian skiing and the present Livigno is about to experience. Alongside the stars of the White Circus, the stage also welcomed the 30 Livigno torchbearers who, on 30 January, will carry the Olympic Torch through the resort – an intense, emotional moment that turned the Olympic story into something profoundly human and shared.

Among the longest applauses of the night was the appearance of the entire Italian National Team, greeted by a true outpouring of enthusiasm, as well as the artistic contribution by Simone Barlaam – comic artist and multiple Paralympic and world swimming champion – who added further artistic depth to the show, demonstrating how talent, sport and creativity can interact without boundaries.

The athletes themselves, protagonists of the Bib Draw Show, could not hide their reaction to the warm welcome and the unique atmosphere filling the square. An experience that immediately conveyed the soul of Livigno, transforming an official ceremony into an authentic encounter with the public. Now, the spotlight shifts to them: tomorrow, 27 December, the course will do the talking, and it will be up to the athletes to thrill once again, writing the first competitive chapter of a story just beginning with the Super-G.

The grand finale truly set the square alight: live music, fireworks and the iconic notes of Seven Nation Army got Livigno moving, closing the show in a surge of energy that united athletes, residents and guests in one big embrace. The Bib Draw Show thus stands not only as a ceremony, but as a manifesto of the Livigno style – a unique way of interpreting sport as a cultural experience. Here, winter is not just a season: it is a living dimension, taking shape through art, sport and culture.

If tonight Livigno ignited the imagination, tomorrow will be time for competition. But the message is already clear: winter has begun. And in Livigno, it comes to life.
