The premiere of the original production, commissioned by Livigno and created by Kataklò, was marked by Alpine Energy, leaving a distinguished audience of institutions, athletes, and celebrities in awe. Six more performances are still on the schedule.

Exactly one year before the start of the 2026 Olympic Games, which will kick off in Livigno on February 5—one day before the lighting of the Olympic flame—Livigno has chosen to celebrate sports in an innovative way, through the lens of culture and entertainment. On this magical night, Circles, The Journey of the Games took center stage—an original, high-level theatrical production created by Kataklò Athletic Dance Theater in collaboration with writer Jacopo Pozzi, who also served as the show's narrator. Conceived by Pozzi and Giulia Staccioli, founder and creative director of Kataklò, the performance was a true journey into the heart of the Olympic spirit and Livigno’s Alpine Energy.  Over 70 minutes of pure wonder, the show left the audience in awe, keeping guests—who traveled to the "Little Tibet" for this special occasion—on the edge of their seats.

We wanted a show that would serve as a powerful source of inspiration and collective reflection on the true value of sports, which go far beyond athleticism and competition. Sport is a way of life, a desire to come together, and a means to share intense emotions,” said Luca Moretti, President of Livigno Next. “Last night allowed us to truly start feeling the Olympic spirit while also showcasing the Alpine Energy that defines us. Livigno has a deep-rooted connection with the disciplines it will host in 2026, and we embrace everything that sport has to offer—every single day—for the well-being of all. We are proud to offer the public six more free performances because ‘being’ the Olympics means exactly this: always looking ahead and building together.

Five narrative acts, symbolizing the five Olympic rings, wove together a story spanning the entire history of humanity’s relationship with sports—from ancient times to the present day. The performance built toward a thrilling crescendo dedicated to snowboard and freestyle,  the disciplines set to take center stage in Livigno during the 2026 Games. Adding to the uniqueness of the experience was the exclusive venue designed specifically for the event: the Alpine Sky Theater. This purpose-built structure, seamlessly integrated into Livigno’s breathtaking mountain landscape, offered a one-of-a-kind vantage point overlooking the village and the starlit sky—making the night even more unforgettable.

Guided by the narrating voice of Jacopo Pozzi, the performance showcased the creative genius of Giulia Staccioli, a former Olympic gymnast who has been leading the Kataklò company of dancer-athletes for 30 years. “To develop ideas that could enhance the emotional depth of the story, I let myself be inspired by the essence of the mountains and the contrast between the Winter and Summer Games, placing at the center the human being—who faces the peaks, admires them, and embraces them within," explained the creative director.
The movement evolves from the highly physical choreographic sequences of the opening scenes to a more descriptive narrative towards the finale, where we highlight the disciplines that define Livigno. This show is a journey between reality and surrealism, between emotion and struggle, between strength and irony—an element that has always been a signature of my artistic style.“

A special evening, made unforgettable by a surprise fireworks display that lit up the valley and the five Olympic rings, mesmerizing the large audience attending the event. Among the distinguished guests were many institutional figures, including Remo Galli, Mayor of Livigno, Luca Moretti, President of Livigno Next, Antonio Rossi, Olympic canoeing champion and now City Operations Manager of the Milano Cortina 2026 Committee, Federica Picchi, Undersecretary for Sports and Youth of the Lombardy Region, Massimo Sertori, Regional Minister for Local Authorities, Mountain Areas, Energy Resources, and Water Resource Management of Lombardy, and Silvia Salis, Deputy Vice President of CONI.
The event also welcomed a remarkable lineup of athletes, including Elia Viviani, silver medalist in cycling at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, Giorgio Rocca, skiing champion, Maurizio Bormolini, parallel snowboard champion from the Livigno Team, and Valentina Marchei, Olympic figure skating athlete.
