SPRING LONG WEEKENDS: WHY CHOOSE LIVIGNO
SPRING LONG WEEKENDS: WHY CHOOSE LIVIGNO
Fun & Relax Livigno 18/04/2024
Spring breaks are just around the corner: whole days to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, where the perfect recipe for regeneration is nature slowly waking up after winter, good food to share with fellow travellers and some healthy relaxation
This perfect mix can be found in Livigno until 1 May, the closing date of the ski area, which is ready to welcome national and international tourists who want to organise a last-minute getaway during spring weekends, enjoying the various activities offered by the area and the milder temperatures.
Thanks to the 1816-metre altitude, fun is guaranteed for skiers and snowboarders: in the early hours of the day, when the temperatures are still crisp, the slopes of the ski resort will be in perfect condition to guarantee unforgettable descents. In addition, winter sports enthusiasts will feel even more free to enjoy themselves from Saturday, 13 April: Livigno is giving the opportunity to get a free ski pass with a stay of at least four nights in a hotel or seven nights in affiliated flats. Skipass Free, in fact, is the ideal opportunity to enjoy the last days on the snow until the beginning of May, when the Livigno winter season, which is also the longest in the Alps, will officially end.
Thanks to the milder temperatures, those who want to do sport in the village will also be satisfied: the Livigno cycle path, which runs for about 17 km along the entire length of the valley, is perfect for those who want to do a road running session, enjoying both the view of the surrounding mountains - still tinged with white thanks to the snowfall of the winter season - and the benefits of training in the highlands.
In addition, there are many alpine refuges in Livigno's large ski area that allow you to enjoy a break from Livigno's varied food and wine offerings, which, even at high altitudes, propose traditional and international dishes made with high quality ingredients, available at any time of day. Easily reached even by those who do not enjoy winter sports thanks to the cableways, the refreshments are also a place for conviviality, where one can meet after an 'outdoor' day and regenerate oneself while being caressed by the warm rays of sunshine typical of the spring season.
Even in the village, there is no lack of options for savouring traditional specialities and other more gourmet ones: bars and restaurants enliven the streets of the centre from morning to late at night, with proposals capable of satisfying the palates of adults and children thanks to the refinement of the raw materials, genuine and of high quality.
For those in search of a mountain, sport and music holiday, Livigno is the ideal destination from 25 to 27 April: the Alps will host the Snowland Music Festival, a unique event in Italy that combines the vibrations of music with the energy of the mountains. Passo Eira will be the stage for some of the most popular national and international electronic music and hip hop artists: opening the festival will be Alok, Articolo 31, Edmmaro and Maddix, as well as D-Nill, Frank Van Janek, In-Style and PRZI, followed the next day (Friday 26 April) by Deborah De Luca, Paco Osuna, Doctum, Frenzy and Ricky Le Roy. Closing the festival will be Anna, Artie 5ive, Morten and Nervo, D-Nill, Marnik, Reygel, Rudeejay and SLVR.
In addition to recreation, 'weekends off' are also perfect for enjoying some well-deserved relaxation, either in specialised facilities or letting yourself be enveloped in the tranquillity of the mountains, even if only with a walk in the pedestrianised centre or in contact with nature.
In Aquagranda, Europe's largest sports and wellness centre and Olympic Preparation Centre, there is a rich proposal of services to regenerate mind, body and spirit available in the Wellness&Relax area, with an architecture rich in typical mountain elements. In addition to saunas, curative steam baths and a salt-water pool, every day the sauna masters devote themselves to Aufguss rituals that give the pleasure of feeling deeply regenerated and relaxed.
These rituals involve pouring snowballs of essential oils onto hot stones placed over the sauna brazier. Once the water has evaporated, the essential oil particles are diffused into the room and the sauna master, through rhythmic movements of a towel, accompanied also by background music, directs the hot, aromatised steam in the direction of the guests, providing an intense multi-sensory experience.
