LIVIGNO | 1816 Bike Zone redefines the high-altitude biking experience
LIVIGNO | 1816 Bike Zone redefines the high-altitude biking experience
Livigno 22/04/2026
An ecosystem that brings together performance, place, and ambition: in Livigno, biking is a way of being.
There are places where biking is something you do, and others where it is something you live, breathe, and express as a state of being. Livigno has always belonged to the latter: a destination where movement is part of the landscape, and where every climb, every trail, every breath above 1,816 meters helps shape an experience that goes beyond performance. It is from this awareness that Livigno | 1816 Bike Zone takes form—an identity rooted in our history, now fully brought into focus. A system that coherently brings together and reflects everything the world of biking represents for the sporting community, both local and international: routes, services, hospitality, and training.
Vision and performance: more than a launch, a revelation. Because in Livigno, biking has always been part of the spirit, the ambition, and everyday life. Here, 1,816 meters represent more than just an altitude—they are a threshold to cross. Perception shifts, focus sharpens, and every movement becomes more essential. Entering the Bike Zone means exactly this: moving from a place to a state, from a territory to a condition, where motion transforms into flow and effort into awareness.
What makes this identity tangible is an offering that unfolds organically and continuously. The great Alpine passes—etched into the history of cycling—intertwine with over 3,500 kilometers of routes that cross the valley and follow its rhythm through every season, making the biking experience everyday, diverse, and never repetitive.
Within this context, evolving projects also take shape, designed to further strengthen the bond between territory and cycling culture: educational pathways dedicated to younger generations, collaborations with athletes and professionals, and an increasingly structured dialogue with elite cycling. In Livigno, an ecosystem grows without breaking its continuity, expanding both possibilities and perspectives.
This vision is complemented by a new way of experiencing and telling performance, also through digital tools. Livigno is now home to three official, certified segments on Strava, among the most iconic in the area: the climb to Passo Eira, the stretch leading to the finish of the Giro d’Italia 2024, and the ascent to Passo Forcola. A virtual route overlays the real one, turning every ride into a shared challenge and every climb into a benchmark recognized on an international level. Between late June and July, an open challenge will bring these segments to life, engaging the global cycling community and strengthening the connection between individual experience and collective storytelling.

The bike season opens in the spirit of continuity and with an increasingly clear vision. From May 1 to 3, Livigno will take center stage at the Riva Bike Festival, one of Europe’s most important events for the mountain bike world, with a presence designed to tell its story from every angle.
A space for dialogue and creation that extends beyond the destination itself, bringing with it the identity of a place that has found one of its most authentic expressions in the world of biking.
As summer approaches, the mountains gradually open up to two wheels. On June 13, the Mottolino lift system will open, followed by Carosello on June 20 and Sitas on July 1. At the same time, the Bike Skill Center will reopen, fully restoring Livigno’s biking dimension: a structured, accessible yet highly technical system where every rider can find their own space, their own rhythm, and their own line.

On June 27, it will be time for the Granfondo Livigno Alè, a well-established and widely recognized event that brings together international participation and strong local roots. More than just a race, it is a meeting point between community and passion, perfectly embedded in the broader narrative of the Bike Zone.
Livigno | 1816 Bike Zone is not the sum of its parts, but their synthesis. It is an ecosystem that finds its strength in coherence and its expression in variety. In Livigno, road meets mountain seamlessly, performance coexists with experience, and training intertwines with discovery. It is a space where professionals and amateurs share the same horizon, each according to their own intensity. A place that does not impose a way of experiencing biking, but makes it possible. Within this trajectory also lies Livigno’s bid to host the IMBA European MTB Summit, a further recognition of a path built over time and oriented toward the future.
Livigno | 1816 Bike Zone also takes shape through a language that becomes more recognizable: images, signs, and visual and narrative choices that more clearly express what Livigno has always been. Above 1,816 meters, the mountains don’t simply begin—your way of experiencing them changes. And for those who ride, that change can be felt in every meter.
