OLYMPIC GAMES: CASA ITALIA COMES TO LIVIGNO

Aquagranda takes center stage in the Olympic winter: confirmed as CPO until 2028 and ready to host Italy’s finest

Livigno, 19 gennaio 2025: There are choices that speak louder than many words. The decision to host a Casa Italia venue in Livigno during the 2026 Winter Olympic Games is certainly one of them. A recognition of strong symbolic and strategic value, confirming the destination’s central role within the Olympic program and strengthening its position as a key player in one of the most important sporting events in the country’s history.

Casa Italia has always represented the cultural soul of the Olympic Games: an iconic, refined and carefully curated space that accompanies each Olympic edition as a true Italian embassy at the heart of the event. It is the place where athletes celebrate their medals, where sport meets art, design, culture and Italian excellence, and where the Olympic story opens up to the world in all its richness and beauty.

In Livigno, Casa Italia will be hosted within the spaces of Aquagranda, also known as AQ1816 (a reference to the resort’s altitude), the large multifunctional center that for years has represented the flagship of the destination’s sports offering. This is far from a random choice, fitting instead into a coherent and well-structured growth path: AQ1816 has recently been confirmed as an Olympic Preparation Center (CPO) through 2028, renewing its role as a key technical hub for high-altitude training for Italian and international athletes alike.

An Olympic-size swimming pool, a state-of-the-art gym, an athletics track, a wellness area and extensive outdoor spaces, all set at 1,816 meters above sea level: Aquagranda is one of the very few places in the world capable of offering a complete ecosystem for elite sports preparation and altitude training. The confirmation of its status as an Olympic Preparation Center and the arrival of Casa Italia within the same setting convey a clear vision: Livigno is not only a competition venue, but a platform for experiences, preparation, connection and representation.

The presence of Casa Italia during the Games thus adds an additional layer of meaning to Livigno’s winter: a space for hospitality and storytelling, capable of bringing together athletes, institutions and guests in an ongoing dialogue between sport and culture, between national identity and an international dimension. A place where victory is celebrated, but where the journey, the effort and the values behind it also find their voice.

With the Games fast approaching, Livigno continues to shape its Olympic mosaic with coherence and vision. From the slopes to the facilities, from events to cultural excellence, every element helps define a winter that will not only be memorable, but deeply representative. Because here, sport is never just sport: it is storytelling, belonging and a shared future. And the countdown has truly begun.
